Shaping scholar-musicians for a changing world.
At Aurelianus Varro University, we embrace the rich legacy of classical music while remaining fearless in questioning conventions. Our approach encourages students to explore new interpretations, experiment with modern performance practices, and engage deeply with the evolving cultural landscape. By honoring the centuries-old traditions of the art form, we provide a foundation that empowers innovation rather than limiting it.
Challenging the status quo is not a departure from tradition—it is an extension of it. From the earliest composers to the masters of the Classical and Romantic periods, musicians have continually pushed boundaries, experimenting with form, harmony, and expression. We cultivate this spirit in our students, nurturing thoughtful risk-taking as a vital part of artistic growth.
Our vision is to make classical music more accessible and relevant to contemporary audiences. By encouraging diverse perspectives and fostering inclusive approaches to performance and scholarship, AVU seeks to bridge the gap between history and modernity. In doing so, we invite more people into the world of classical music while maintaining the rigor, depth, and beauty that have defined it for hundreds of years.
Innovation at AVU is grounded in respect for our inherited traditions. Every student is taught to appreciate the historical context of the repertoire they study while being challenged to ask “why” and “what if?”—to consider new voices, new interpretations, and new forms of engagement. This balance between reverence and inquiry defines our community and prepares graduates to be both custodians and innovators of classical music.
At Aurelianus Varro University, students have access to state‑of‑the‑art practice rooms, each equipped with a selection of both Steinway and Yamaha pianos to support a range of performance needs and preferences. Our newly constructed concert hall, completed in 2022, seats 1,250 audience members and has already hosted remarkable guest artists such as Julianne Marlow, who has recorded with the prestigious Harmonia Magna Records. The hall's advanced acoustics, elegant architecture, and cutting‑edge lighting system create an inspiring environment for both performers and audiences alike.
From solo recitals to full orchestral performances, our facilities provide the perfect setting for music to thrive, while offering students invaluable hands‑on experience in professional performance environments.
